Why do so many women believe that the only power that we possess lies between our legs?

Far too many times have I heard women say, “Don’t give it all away upfront. If you do, there’s nothing left to keep him wanting you.” (Cue the 90-Day Rule and Celibacy pact with the lord)

Wait, what?! I’m sorry but if the only power that I possess is my yoni, I’m in deep trouble.

I’ll admit, I fell for the hype too! I picked up Think Like A Man and plenty of others like it. These books sparked an immediate evolution of my perception, though.

I’m in a stage of my life where I am evaluating my beliefs to make sure that they are really MY beliefs and not just something I picked up due to it being drilled into my head. After analyzing this specific belief, I’ve realized that I disagree with it. We have to live our lives based off of our dynamic with others- not our mother’s dynamic with her people back in the day. Morals and values are wonderful to have in place and to live by, but just make sure that they are yours. It’s so easy to fall into living the lives of those in which we are most influenced by.

Now, I’m not saying that a woman should just open her legs to whomever. I am saying, though, that we must hold a higher value of ourselves. Our anatomy is here to stay and while, yes, it is valuable, we are not slaves to it.

A good man understands that whomever he lays down with is a direct reflection of himself. And also, if he isn’t the right type, not even juggling bowling pins while on a unicycle will keep him around.

I have substance to keep a man interested.

Read that again because you do too…

I have intellect and humor and quirks that make me unique. If a man feels that my being is not enough then surely he is not enough. This is where we choose wisely by taking our time getting to know these men. This is also where I understand the reason that the 90-Day Rule was created. Time tells all.

We, as women, have been brainwashed into believing that just who we are can’t hold a candle to what we have. We are worth so much more than something that men can get anywhere and I refuse to allow you to reduce yourself to such.

Your power lies within your heart and mind. Your power is in the sheer essence of who you are. THAT will captivate the right man. THAT will keep him coming back for more.

Nurture your energy. Vibrate higher. Embrace and Exude, beautiful because your character is the lead and this world is the audience.
