Just Beet It

I’ve had a juicer sitting on the top of my refrigerator for about a year now. Honestly, I was intimidated by it. I didn’t want to break it or mix the wrong fruits and veggies, so I opted to just let it sit there collecting dust.

It wasn’t until this past weekend that I took it down to experiment. I went to the grocery store and picked up beets, ginger root, and carrots. With the optimism radiating out of me, I cleaned, and cut my produce up and got to juicin’.

First off, beets make a HUGE mess and they stain damn-near everything. So, when you get ready to juice them, be aware of what you have lying around. Anyway, I piece by piece I started to see the catch-bowl fill up with this vibrant purple juice then the bright orange from the carrots….so aesthetically pleasing. Lol.

Pictured is mason jar filled with this concoction that I put together. Guys…the smell of this juice is earthy and pure. The beets still had a bit of dirt on them (*insert God mad dirt, dirt don’t hurt) even though I cleaned them as best as I could. You couldn’t taste it, as the juice was not gritty. But you could smell it a bit. Either way, the shit was delicious and I felt like a majestic unicorn during and after drinking this.

I thought I could list a few properties of beets because they sound gross as hell but they are SOOOO good for your body. Here’s a few benefits of the beets:

Rich in potassium

Great source of Vitamin C

High in Fiber

Rich in Antioxidants

Lowers Blood Pressure

***WARNING: drinking this may result in dark, red, or purple tinted urine. Do not be alarmed. Lol! It scares the hell out of me every time. Lol
