Value

Invest in yourself.

We seem to always hear these wise words from the moguls and tycoons.

They say that if we don’t invest in ourselves, no one else will.

This is fact. I can attest to this fact due to many years of extensive accidental research.

I never really valued myself before. Where does one learn to value themselves? Especially when my television shows and ads would practically scream, “YOU’RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!”

I suppose I missed the Love Yourself 101 course while attending Macomb Community College.

No one really told me that if I didn’t present my self-worth, people would assume I was worthless.

Countless relationships and could-have-been’s ran me over due to this, and just when I mustered the courage to rise again, they would throw that thing in reverse to finish me off.

That’s just it, though: they never really finished the job.

Those broken pieces of my existence that were scattered in the street were somehow swept up and glued back together.

You may know that once a vase is shattered and repair is attempted, said vase will never quite look and feel the same.

I was broken. I am that vase.

I may not have the best repair job but I can still hold matter and present it proudly.

Like crushed glass, every so often I find overlooked pieces. I simply add them in and they make me even stronger.

I know my worth due to learning the hard way.

If only you could see your worth, beautiful.

You are a goddess.

Present yourself with confidence and class despite your past or where you may be on your path.

Invest in you.

You’re worth it all and so much more.
